Smallwater Estate was purchased early 1993 and planted in the same year. It was intended as a Marron farm and vineyard with the intention of only ever being a contract Grape grower. This worked well for many years supplying mainly to Cape Mentelle, and then in 2005 the decision to start making wine under the Smallwater Estate label was made.
